Exam Q&AAm I eligible to take the exam? The exam is available anyone involved in the commercial collection field. How do I prepare for the exam? The IACC Certified Commercial Collector Manual serves as an excellent study guide for exam preparation. Where can I take the exam? Certification program candidates take the exam in their own offices. A supervisor or manager who is not taking the exam will act as a monitor. Approximately one week prior to the registered exam date, the designated supervisor will receive the sealed exam booklets and will be responsible for administering the exam to the candidates on the registered exam date. The completed exams must be returned to IACC within one week of the registered exam. What are the steps in the certification process? IACC will score the completed exam. Participants will be notified of the results within six weeks of the date that the exam is returned to IACC. A score of 80% or better is required to pass the exam. Upon passing the exam, candidates will receive a certificate, an announcement in IACC’s newsletter, Scope, and a press release for distribution to local press outlets. Those who pass may also indicate they are an IACC Certified Commercial Collector on business cards, letterhead and other printed material. How do I become re-certified? Re-certification will be required every three years. The cost of the re-certification exam is $25/association members and $50/non-members. Certified collectors will be notified several months prior to the expiration of their current certification with a reminder to schedule the re-certification exam. How do I apply? Contact IACC to
request an application. | ||||||||||
